Hey everyone! So I’d be a huge liar if I said I hadn’t been procrastinating a bit when it comes to this blog entry. The thing is each time I contemplated starting it I realised that the number of topics to cover had increased so I put it off for even longer. That’s on me though – being super lazy – and the reason why the number of topics keeps increasing is that our (expanding) FSG team and epic friends from the Blacklist Bunker keep organising awesome events, contests, er…things. I’ll get to all of that soon though as firstly for all of the new folks or anyone else who needs it I need to share handy FSG info:
https://discord.gg/gGCkkU6Ccc – FSG Discord Server.
https://www.flickr.com/groups/femboystyleguide/pool/ – FSG Flickr Group.
https://www.flickr.com/groups/fsg-x/pool/ – FSG-X (NSFW) Flickr Group.
https://semysays.com/2024/09/25/semy-says-fsg-fashion-show-2024/ – Previous blog entry covering our fashion show!
https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Burning%20Desire%20Island/30/206/1259 – Femboy Style Guide SLurl.
As always if you visit FSG look out for the handy teleport pads which are also sign posted. There might even be new additions to the spots you can visit which this mysterious Cat isnβt sharing here (OK itβs an old pic lol):

There’s so much to cover and I really don’t know where to start – plus if I miss anything I’m so so sorry – but I’ll try here…
We’ve had two new additions to our FSG moderator team! Dia and Theo are two huge community members; both hugely active in our discord server, at our events (including helping planning some), and always amongst the first to offer help when someone has an avatar or fashion question.

Dia is our resident super-goth (Kelis may have to fight him for the title at our next Slapdown event) and I’m betting if you’ve been to an event or spent any time in our server you’ve seen or spoken to him. What you might not know though is that he is a Second Life comic creator with his science fiction epic “Beyond Star”! He was even interviewed about it:

You can find print editions of “Beyond Star” on Blurb:
https://www.blurb.com/user/Avelier
And if you want to see more of Dia check out his Primfeed:

Theo might just be our community’s most prolific and helpful blogger (I won’t be fighting them for that title as we’ve already established I’m too lazy). They’re also a DJ, creator, store owner, and an avid photographer. Theo’s blogs are two of the most expansive (and regularly updated) community resources we have when it comes to LGBTQAI+ body options in Second Life. Oh and you’ll find them linked in Theo’s new dedicated channel in our discord server. But just in case here’s some links:

So I mentioned it’s been a super busy month right? It’s been crazy busy honestly as even before Halloween had found us the US members of our FSG events team (Dal, Jasper, Dia) and the Blacklist Bunker crew got together and created a three day long “Game Night” location and experience which ran from October 12th – 14th.
Here’s some words from Dal about it all:
“Game Night β A weekend long event with a costume contest and two different days to play an assortment of various games. A majority of the build was cobbled together by our US moderation team but various aspects were included to represent people from both FSG and the Blacklist.”

It was a super fun temporary build with fully playable games – whether it was single player arcade style or where whole groups could play against each other – there was something for everyone.

There were inside and outside party/gathering spaces and the team even had a costume contest on night 1; the winners were: 1st place: Ligma, 2nd: Xica Bean, 3rd: London, 4th Eden.
Dal and Dia grabbed some pics of the winners so I’ll add a little gallery below π :

We think the whole “Game Night” set-up was a real success and one of the most fun things our FSG team has been part of creating so we’ve got hopes to bring the venue back (maybe not exactly the same) but I’ll talk more about that later.

October the 24th (until the end of the month) also saw the return of the art project (spearheaded by Jasper and Dal) where members could visit a temporarily rented location and rez objects to contribute to the themed backdrop.
Here’s some thoughts from Dal:
“The Halloween Art Project β FSG came together to build a backdrop item by item. While each item is unique to the person who placed it the work goes to show how diverse FSG is as a group but also how when we come together: we create beautiful things.”
Should we expect this to return during the Festive season? I’m betting it just might.

Thoughts from Dal on this one (which happened on October 26th):
“Movie Night- Dia has built a home theater and has been hosting various movie nights every couple weeks with a little social fun before and after the movie.”
I’ve not been able to attend these because Dia has been hosting during his timezone (one of the US ones – having so many confuses me honestly) but it’s been mentioned that we could maybe host a movie night for euro time zone members (more news on that later too).

So spooky celebrations kicked off early as on October the 21st The Continental hosted an event with three DJs who you might just recognise. I managed to sneak along and join the crowd too π .

As did Eden and Iwone from the Blacklist..

What about Halloween week itself though? Well this year the Blacklist Bunker did something a little different; instead of one themed build they decided to have three party nights, each with its own theme.
Night one (October 29th) “Rise of the One” was set in a spooky swamp and DJed by Tantrica and Daxia:

Night two (October 30th) “Cult of the Machine God” was set in a gothic/cyber/sci-fi church and DJed by Esmi and myself:

Night three (October 31st) “They Live” was set in an eerie black and white city and DJed by Lexie and London.

A huge thank you to Daxia who took all of the shots in the three galleries above. I couldn’t include them all though so you should totally head over to the Blacklist Bunker’s discord server where you can find the rest:

Speaking of awesome Halloween themed photos… we announced the winners of our Halloween Photo contest during the party on the 30th. If you’d like to see all of the entries (and the rules) please use this link to peek at the channel in our discord:

I’ll share the winners here though; starting with special extra prizes!

Dia grabbed L$250 for “best use of a large chopper”.

Neo grabbed L$250 for “most wholesomely Halloween”.

Kelis grabbed L$250 for “most likely to appear in hentai tentacle porn”.

Auggie took third place and a L$500 prize for their entry.

Keebs nabbed second place and a L$750 prize for this entry.

And our first place prize (L$1000) plus overall winner went to Jade for this stunning shot.

There’s more though because after Halloween had ended we had one of the highlights of the year; an audio-visual spectacular as London celebrated her favourite musical artist. I’m going to share some shots of the party (taken by Daxia and others I think) but if you want to see more including the little video clips I grabbed then head to our events/projects/parties discord channel:

So spoopy month has ended and I’ve got news about upcoming parties and other fun stuff but before I get to that I wanted to bring back a little mini-feature on Second Life stores which support our community. Oh and it just happens to be a year since our new moderator Theo opened their store starQuake: Shapes and Beauty!

I’ve already told you how awesome Theo is and they make such sweet stuff so you should head on over to their store (which happens to be an FSG neighbour) ASAP:

Especially because the anniversary sale ends today!

Semy Says… So what’s next?
Here’s a little list of upcoming FSG related events π :
13th of November (Today) 12pm SLT – Esmi DJing at the Blacklist Bunker.
14th of November 12pm SLT – FSG Thursdays with DJ Moira at the FSG Penthouse.
16th of November 12pm SLT – The FSG Third Anniversary party at Mady’s Playground @ FSG with London and I as DJs.
21st of November 12pm SLT – FSG Thursdays with DJ Geo at the FSG Penthouse.
27th of November 12pm SLT – Esmi DJing at FSG.
28th of November 12pm SLT – FSG Thursdays Game Night (more info coming soon).
I don’t usually list stuff but we’ve got a big anniversary party coming up and this will be the end of our current schedule because starting in December we’ll have some big changes…
Remember I talked about more info on Game Night and Movie night? Well starting in December we’re going to split FSG Thursdays up theme wise; over a four week period we’ll have a DJ, Game Night, a DJ, and a Movie Night so each Thursday feels different and fresh. We also mentioned in the server post that the anniversary party on the 16th will be a farewell to our Mady’s Playground build at FSG; the long term plan is to replace that with a new version of the temporary Game Night build which Dal and his team created.

(Until the new venue has been built you can play Bubble Pop at the FSG Penthouse though; can you beat my score before Esmi does?)
So we’re super excited about future plans and as builds/idea happen and take shape I’ll share that in my future blogs with pics and info of course. We hope you’ll love the bright future for FSG too!
