OK where to start… how about recent community events 🙂 (apologies if I’m awful with all the dates and things):
Last month Dia built a temporary sim called “The Aftermath” which was open for everyone to explore, roleplay, and take pictures at. Above is a group photo taken by Esmi on the 8th of December – see who you can spot there 🙂 – but I’ll also share some others below:
It’s awesome to see how differently those examples turned out; turning up and posing with all those epic Second Life photographers was a blast – not literally though as I was careful with the flame on my welding torch thingy 😛 .
Now whilst The Aftermath might be gone now there’s more news from Dia:

So what else has happened in the last few weeks? We’ve started our monthly FSG Thursdays “Game Night”; with events on the 28th of November, 12th of December, and 9th of January so far.
Dal has been rezzing all sorts of different games each time so we can see which are the most popular choices to include as permanent fixtures at our new build once that’s complete. Going by yesterday’s sweet turn out my guess is that “Cards Against Humanity” has earned its spot.
Geo, Moira, and myself have all DJed on other FSG Thursdays weeks over the last month and a bit plus I played a set for our US (and other timezone) based members on what turned out to be the early hours of a Sunday morning for me (15th of December). I think folks enjoyed my little collection of synthwavey goodness and it was lovely to catch up with peeps I don’t see as often as I’d like. We’ll have another US hours set soon once we get rebuild plans lined up.
I also played a few tunes on Boxing day (the 26th of December) as a lead in to our first ever FSG Thursdays “Movie Night” at the Femboy Penthouse:
Esmi set up the seating and Dia let us use his big screen – which we positioned at the edge of the pool – and we all enjoyed the crazily festive Christmas Classic: “Gremlins”. We’ll have another movie night later this month (more about that later).
Other news…
We had a winter themed open day at Sui Spa earlier on in December with a reduced group join fee and free access to our beautiful location for 24 hours. You can still visit Sui (and join the group) of course:

Plus I suspect Esmi has a spring festival idea in mind 🙂 .
We’ve also had some farewells in recent weeks. Esmi played his last full time DJ set at the Blacklist on the 27th of November, Zely played their last Second Life DJ set at the Blacklist on the 15th of December, whilst Bwian played the last ever set at Sheboys on the 18th of December.
All were lovely and awesome of course but it’s so bittersweet enjoying such special moments when we’re also saying goodbye. Sheboys was such an iconic community venue and it was such a pleasure for me to have DJed and partied there.
Zely will be missed massively too but we have to wish them all the very best luck for whatever the future brings; here’s their goodbye message from the FSG server:
“I want to put it here for all to see, Thank you to every single one of you who ever came to my sets or spoke with me or just tolerated me and my music tastes, Today was my “Gone but not Froggoton” DJ set to party and say good by through blacklist. We had an amazing turn out of people and well wishers it truly makes my decision to leave so much harder. That being said you’ve not gotten rid of me i’ll still be here in this amazing server trying to help out and sharing cool things with people when i can and who knows i might sneak back on SL on random occasion to say hi and see the cool things going on in real time. Have a Happy Holidays and fuck em up in the new year.”
One other little morsel of news related to all the above is that whilst Esmi isn’t DJing full time anymore he will be back (more on that later)…
It’s not all been news of people or places leaving/closing though because The Blacklist Bunker had an official relaunch party on the 3rd of January to celebrate their awesome new build! It’s so new that there aren’t many pics out there yet but it looks spectacular so make sure to head on over and check it out:

December also saw the culmination of this year’s FSG Festive Photo Contest! As always the standard was stunningly high. If you want to see the rules and all of the entries please peek everything here in our discord server:

First, second, and third scooped prizes of L$1000, L$750, and L$500 respectively whilst the special mentions all received L$250; oh and of course the winner gets the coveted “spot on the wall” at the Femboy Penthouse alongside all of our other photo contest winners! That’s a heck of a lot right? I’ve actually got some huge new FSG stuff to announce with an epic new project/event/thing in the pipeline but I want to wait until we have the new build ready because we’ll be hosting it there 😛 . Consider yourselves teased because it will be a lot of fun I think.
